    Hello,
I have an employment opportunity at Gebze location (Free trade zone) in Turkey. All my processes have been completed and I have received work permit card as well. However, due to new immigration process, still I am not allowed to get Visa, Consulate says they are waiting approval from CSGB ministry, once that is done then I can apply for visa. I am waiting for Ministry of Labour (MoL) approval since more than a month now and not sure how long it will take. Could you please let me know how long CSGB ministry will take to give an approval on work permit? Also, not sure what approval they are looking now after issuing work permit card. Anyone else is facing such issue?
    Kindly help me.

    Thanks,
    Keshav

      Thank you for your comment.

Officially work permit application process lasts around 30 working days but it also depends on how many applications is submitted at the time. That is why when sometimes results might come faster, sometimes there are delays as well. The employer can check status of application onlie or by contacting the Ministry of Labour.

    Hello,

Please, I have a question regarding the last part of the process for work permit: After the 30 days, the Ministry gives the approval and the employee has to go to the Turkish consulate to get his work visa sticker and pay fee. Does the Embassy give this on the same day (the work permit sticker on passport)?

    Thank you very much

      Hello,
      Thank you for your comment.

İf your residence permit’s validity was in total at least 6 months, your employer can make the work permit application with no need for you to leave Turkey. You can not submit work permit application by yourself, all of the formalities must be done by the employer. Our company provides services including obtaining work permit, your employer can contact us or visit one of our offices for dtails.

I am here from the last one-year bt I got the resident permit after 3 months when I arrived. someone told me I have to complete one year to get a work permit. I am working as an export operation supervisor in a company, they pay me salary minimum than the normal wage. please guide me through how i can get a work permit and work legally

    • ExpatGuideTurkey

      Hello,
      Thank you for your comment.

You can not apply for work permit by yourself in Turkey, your employer needs to do the application. You are allowed to work in Turkey legally as a Master Degree student. So if your current employer does not agree to give you work permit, we advice you to find another job instead of working illegally.

Thank you for being a company that helps people in a very professional way.

I have one last question please: from what I read in this very helpfull website, I need to work in my company for one year before I can applie for family residence.

My question is: what is the best solution if I want to bring my wife and little kids sooner and not wait for one year?

What if a bring my family and declare the bank statement that I have 6000€ per year (500€ per month)? will this amount be enough for my wife and kids or the kids need each 6000€ in addition?

Thank you so much and hope to visit the office of this company really soon.

    • ExpatGuideTurkey

      Hello,
      Thank you for your comment.

You can prepare an official invitation to Turkey for your wife and children and basing on your work permit they can apply for residence permit in Turkey, your salary would be enough.

    Hello,

I have a job offer in Istanbul. My question is: Can I come to Istanbul with tourist visa (I am from EU) and while I am in Turkey my employee sort out my work permit? or is it a must to sort in Turkish embassy in my home country?

    Thank you very much

    • ExpatGuideTurkey

      Dear Jose,
      Thank you for your comment.

Both of solutions described by you are possible. Your employer can apply for your work permit before you come to Turkey so the procedure will be done earlier and you could start working soon after arrival or you can come on tourist visa and start application process here.

Did anyone receive work permits recently. I heard that there is a processing delay of work permits due to system migrations.

  • Tom

In the final step “employee applies to the Turkish consulate”, how fast is this process, and do you need to leave your passport with them while you do? My Finnish girlfriend would like to visit me in Copenhagen while it’s getting sorted. The question is if it’s possible, ie will she have her passport during this time?

    • ExpatGuideTurkey

      Dear Mr. Tom,

There is no need to leave passport at the Turkish Consulate during the work permit procedure. It could be needed only twice; during the appointment date at the Consulate and once your girlfriend’s work visa will be approved to stick it to passport.

      Best Regards,

  • Guillaume

    Hello,
I am currently applying for a working visa and my company is applying for working permit. As I understood from other websites, when the employee got the working visa, he/she has 90 days to obtain the residence permit after entering Turkey. Is that true?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

    • ExpatGuideTurkey

      Hi,

      Thank you for your comment.

No, that’s not true. A work permit is also a residence permit. You do not need to apply for a residence permit. A 90-day visa for workers is for people arriving from outside of Turkey. Foreign citizens coming to Turkey to work must do so within 90 days otherwise their work permit will be canceled.

      Kind Regards
