Applications for work permit are made through e-Government portal of Turkey (https://ecalismaizni.ailevecalisma.gov.tr). The automated work permit application system enables the users to fill the online work permit application form and upload necessary documents into the system. Online application is made through the e-government portal. Duly applications are finalized by the Ministry at most thirty days and once the decision is made, the ministry informs the applicant through e-mail. Foreigners residing outside the Turkey can make their work permit applications through the Turkish representative offices in their home countries. In the existence of residence permit valid for at least 6 months, foreigners residing in Turkey can make their applications directly to Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
1.FOREIGNERS RESIDING OUTSIDE OF TURKEY
Foreigners residing outside the Turkey are subject to apply for work permit from the representative offices of Turkey in their own countries. Pursuance to work permit application of foreigner, within 10 working days the employer should process the application online to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in Turkey. Once the approval from the Ministry is granted, foreigners are required to apply for work visa to the Turkish representative office within 90 days.
As per new rules on residence permits, valid working permissions will be now used as residence permits as well. Thus work permit validity requirement of residence permit application within 30 days upon obtaining the work permit (for consulate applications 30 days was starting upon arrival of work permit holders) will be outlawed. On the other hand the same as work permits, “Work Permit Exemption Certificates” will also be used as residence permits.
2.FOREIGNERS RESIDING INSIDE TURKEY
Foreigners with residence permit valid for at least 6 months may make their applications to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security internally. Internal applications are made by the employer directly to the Ministry. Once the online application is completed and signed by electronic signature, there is no need to send any documents to the Ministry .
3.WORK PERMIT EXTENSION APPLICATIONS
Extension application of the work permit period is made to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. As Internal applications, after completing and signing with e-signature online applications, there is no need to post any documents to ministry. The application for extension could be started from 2 months before the expiry date of the work permit. After the expiry date of work permit, the applicant no longer may request for extension and the application is regarded as initial application.
Hello. I got a job in Istanbul and they informed me that my work permit was approved. My question is, how long does it take from this until receiving my work visa to be able to travel?

After application is approved and work permit fees are paid, you can directly receive a visa in Turkish Consulate in your country. After you receive your visa, you must arrive to Turkey within 90 days, otherwise your work permit would be cancelled.

From what you wrote, you already applied for residence permit so now you should attend your appointment and wait for the results. İf your application would be accepted, you can stay in Turkey as long as your permit will be valid. But if it would be rejected, you must leave Turkey wihin 10 days and can apply again after you come to Turkey with new visa in the future.

You need to find a job in Turkey so your employer can apply for work permit. Only an employer can apply for your work permit, you can not submit the application by yourself without having a job in Turkey.

Hi Team,
I would like to ask for the latest work permit application , how much time it take to receive the work permit? My office has applied for extension of my work permit and application was submitted on 21st of march. After that there is no information, Whenever i am calling 170 they are saying that we donot have permissions to check your application based on new application system and only lawyer can check the status of the application and lawyer/agent is saying that NEW web-site has some issue and we will get the information once web-site will be up.
Can you please also guide me, is there any office in Istanbul which i can visit in person and get the information directly about the status of my work visa extension application.

Master Degree students are allowed to obtain work permit in Turkey as long as they were not granted a state scholarship in Turkey during they education. After graduation you can transfer your student residence permit into tourist residence permit so you can stay in Turkey in order to find a job.
