  1. my name is dulal miah i got an appointment letter from Turkish Summa Construction Company along with the Terms of contract they are asking to send a receipt for security deposit in my account ,as they say employees come to live and work in Turkey for at least 12 months are mandated to show availability see below email from HR Manager from M/s Summa for your info.

    Dear Dulal Mohamad,
Kindly note that the security deposit is to certify that you can be responsible for your maintenance as mandated by Turkish Insurance policies to protect and secure Expatriates financially. This is not a payment but a security deposit to ensure that you can cater for your needs and support yourself once you arrive here before you receive your first salary from your Employer in line with the Turkish Expatriate Financial Statutory Law.

This deposit is to be made before the issuance of your visa and work permit.

You would be referred to our approved visa agent here in Turkey for immediate start up of your visa and work permit procurement as soon as you send a scanned copy of your signed contract document.
    The documents required for visa processing;
    • Passport photograph
    • Medical report
    • International passport
    • Security deposit receipt
    • Mailing address

And a list of other things that will be provided by our approved visa agent.

Therefore my concern is that for visa processing in Turkey normally they ask to show the security deposit through receipt in our account?

Please advice me on this issue as soon as possible

  2. Hello, I hope you are doing very well.
First of all, I would like to thank you for the very professional and useful website and all the help you provide for expats in Turkey.
I would like also to request from you some information regarding my situation:

I am from Morocco and I have a residence permit in turkey for 1 year -short term and it will end in June 2019.
I am doing an internship in a Turkish company through Aiesec association.
Now the company I am doing the internship in, would like to employ me.
What should I do? and what is the procedure I should follow to obtain a work permit and a long term residency (at least 2 years) ?

Also I would like to apply from Turkey and no need to go back to my country to apply from there. Is that possible?
I have no idea what to do and how to proceed.
    Please help me through that.

Thank you so much for taking time to read my email and I hope that you can help me with some information and directions.
Have a nice day and I am awaiting your reply.–
    Best regards
    Zineb

    1. Hello,
      Thank you for your comment.

As you are doing internship in Turkey now, you must go back to your home country in order to apply for work permit via Turkish Consulate there. You can not apply for work permit by yourself, only your employer can submit the application. Application procedures takes around one month and after it would be approved, you will receive work visa to come back to Turkey and start working here. First work permit is usually being issued for one year, after that period of time you employer can extend the document. Your work permit would be residence permit at the same time, you do not need to apply for residence permit additionally. If your employer needs assistance during work permit application, they can contact us and we will be glad to guide them throughout the whole procedure.

  3. Hi,

My brother has obtained a work visa to work for a company in Turkey and is currently in the process of obtaining a visa. The company want my brother to do his two week training course in Turkey, rather than going back to London to do it there. His question is: can he do the two week training course in Turkey if he does not have his visa yet?

    Many thanks.

    1. Hello,
      Thank you for your comment.

We do not know the details about visa process or type of job in this case but your brother should have adequate kind of visa for traineeship in order to be allowed to do training in Turkey.

      Kind regards,

  4. Hello. I have a friend from Iran who wants to live in turkey for 1 year… is it true he should make a deposit of $2700 as his bond in turkey because Turkish embassy requires it?

    1. Hello,
      Thank you for your comment.

There is no such a requirement and whoever provides this kind of information is most probably trying to scam your friend. No deposit is required from foreigners who would like to stay in Turkey for any period of time. Immigration office can only ask foreigners for bank statements while applying for residence permit in order to prove that they are capable of sustaining in Turkey.

  5. I am from Pakistan and i want to doing job in turkey, i want to get two year employee visa, please tell me what is process to get visa from Pakistani.

    1. Hello,

In order to obtain work permit, first you need to find a job in Turkey and your future employer must apply for your work permit. Foreigners can not apply for work permit in their own name or without having a job in Turkey. Application for foreigner who has residence permit valid in total for at least 6 months can be done within Turkey. For foreigners who are not residence permit holders, application must be done via Turkish Consulate in their home country. Work permit application can not be submitted basing on visa.
Otherwise, you can also establish your own company. In this case to obtain work permit for yourself as an owner, your company’s paid capital must be at least 100.000 TL and there must be 5 Turkish citizens employed per each foreigner in the company including yourself.

  8. Hi,
I am from one of the countries listed for visa exemption (Peru) for tourism purposes (90/180 day period). I recently found a job that will do the work permit. Before coming to Turkey I was residing in Romania for three years but my visa expired. I read that my future employer can only request the work permit if I have a residence permit for at least 6 months.
Can I subscribe to a Turkish course so that I can request a studies visa for six months, thus my employer would be able to request the work permit? Or if I don’t, can I apply from the Turkish consulate in Romania without having to go back all the way to Peru?
    Thank you,
    Esteban

    1. Hello,
      Thank you for your comment.

You can apply for short term residence permit for touristic purposes or as a foreigner who will join Turkish course. If this kind of permit would be granted, your employer can apply for your work permit within Turkey. Although there is no guarantee that the permit will be granted or that it will be valid 6 months. Otherwise application is supposed to be done from Peru. It is very rare that foreigners are allowed to apply from consulate in countries other than country of their nationality and there must be a serious reason like, for example, military conflict in foreigner’s homecountry.
